Our Privacy Promise
Your real identity is never shared with sellers. We built Bargain Rani around your privacy — it's not an afterthought, it's the product.
1. Information We Collect
We collect: (a) Registration data — mobile number, optional name and email; (b) Transaction data — items purchased, offers made, delivery addresses (stored encrypted); (c) Usage data — pages visited, search queries, bargain activity; (d) Device data — device type, OS, app version, IP address for fraud prevention.
2. How We Use Your Data
We use your data to: process your orders and communicate order status; power the real-time bargaining engine; personalise product recommendations; detect and prevent fraud; improve the Platform through aggregated analytics; send transactional SMS/WhatsApp updates (you can opt out of promotional messages at any time).
3. Identity Protection — Our Core Commitment
Bargain Rani's foundational privacy guarantee is that your real identity is never disclosed to sellers or delivery partners. We use relay phone numbers, anonymised addresses, and a secure communication layer. Your real mobile number, name, and home address are stored encrypted and are never shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Data Sharing
We share data only with: (a) Verified logistics partners — only the masked delivery address; (b) Payment gateways — regulated by RBI, PCI-DSS compliant; (c) Fraud prevention providers under strict NDA; (d) Law enforcement — only when required by valid Indian court order. We do not sell your data. Ever.
5. Cookies & Tracking
We use essential cookies to maintain session state, and optional analytics cookies (you can decline at any time). We do not use third-party advertising trackers. Our mobile app uses Firebase Analytics with IP anonymisation enabled.
6. Data Retention
Account data is retained for 3 years after account closure for legal compliance. Transaction records are retained for 7 years per Indian tax law requirements. You may request deletion of personal data (excluding legally required records) by emailing privacy@bargainrani.in.
7. Your Rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; correct inaccurate data; nominate a representative to act on your behalf; and lodge a grievance. To exercise any right, email privacy@bargainrani.in.
8. Children's Privacy
Bargain Rani does not knowingly collect data from users under 18. If you believe a minor has registered on our platform, please notify us at safety@bargainrani.in and we will delete the account within 48 hours.
9. Security
We implement AES-256 encryption at rest, TLS 1.3 in transit, two-factor authentication for seller accounts, and regular third-party security audits. In the event of a data breach, we will notify affected users within 72 hours and report to CERT-In as required.
